Lisa Edwards Joined IGS in October 2018 as a full-time Researcher. In 2013, Ms. Edwards graduated from the University of Guyana with a degree in Public Communication Studies and a strong curiosity about the representation of women in the media and the roles women play in media production. In 2015, Ms. Edwards completed a post-graduate certificate in Gender and Development Studies and in 2018 a Masters of Science degree in Gender and Development Studies – both from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.  Her Master’s thesis focused on Media Representation of Suicide in Online News Reports in Guyana. She describes gender as dynamic and relevant in every aspect of our daily lives and encourages anyone, in any field of study to pursue a gender course to gain a deeper understanding of self and society.
