My name is Nicholette Gouveia and I’m 21 years old. I’m currently about to enter my fourth year of the Bachelors of Science (Chemistry) program. I hope to become a pharmaceutical chemist. My hobbies include reading books and comics, watching anime and cooking.
When I initially did the required courses, I didn’t go in with any expectations or ideas of what I thought it was about, as before this scholarship I was unaware that UG offered the courses. However, I was happy to broaden my horizons as a Natural Science student, because I also have an appreciation for Social Sciences. Throughout my academic journey, with these two courses, I learned so many things that I was previously unknowledgeable about or ignorant about. I feel like it has helped me improve as a person. I think that more opportunities for people to do gender-related courses should be provided because it does broaden one’s scope and outlook on life and I feel like it would help prejudiced people gain more empathy and hopefully help reduce their biased views.
